Next SKNLP Administration will pursue a National Cancer Control Policy

“The NextGen Labour administration shall vigorously pursue a National Cancer Control Policy”

So says, Leader of the St Kitts-Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP), Dr. the Hon. Denzil Douglas. This, as the party is gearing up for the next general elections, which are due in the Federation by early 2020.

During his “Ask the Leader” Radio program, in St. Kitts, he intimated that “this will deal very comprehensively as a policy, with systematically tackling the causes and consequences of cancer at all levels.”

He added that cancer could become the commonest cause of a serious chronic illness in St Kitts and Nevis. Cancer is a disease caused by an uncontrolled division of abnormal cells in a part of the body.

According to Cancer.gov, in all types of cancer, some of the body’s cells begin to divide without stopping and spread into surrounding tissues. These extra cells can divide without stopping and may form growths called tumors.
