NIA continues to “explore avenues of additional water”
Water remains arguably, the most important commodity on Earth and in St. Kitts & Nevis in particular.
Though important, it at times can be insufficient. For instance, there are times in the year, where little to low rain is falling, which adds to water rationing programs being implemented.
Because of this, both Water Services Departments in St. Kitts & Nevis, have expressed the need to develop additional sources of water either from Wells or Sea Water Desalination. Desalination is the process by which salt and impurities are removed from water.
In light of this, Nevis’ Minister with responsibility for Water, Hon. Spencer Brand, stated the Nevis Island Administration’s (NIA) position:
