The Premier’s Ministry in collaboration with the Department of Youth last Thursday held a Youth Forum with an assortment of group leaders at the Malcolm Guishard Recreational Park on Nevis.

The forum in question, provided an avenue for a total of 37 leaders that were present to give their thoughts on existing programs available for young people and possible futuristic initiatives in the presence of ministers of the NIA.

Special Advisor to the Premier, Ms. Latoya Jones who coordinated the event expressed her gratitude and elation to the various representatives who were present including church youth groups, music groups, sports clubs and community groups. She also mentioned the planning of a summit for next year intended for all youths 16-29 years of age.

Ms. Jones concluded her remarks by encouraging the youth leaders along with their members, to establish a close working relationship with the Department of Youth, expressing the many opportunities and benefits that can be obtained by working hand in hand with the department.

Ministers present at the event were Premier – Hon. Mark Brantley, Deputy Premier – Hon. Alexis Jeffers, Hon. Eric Evelyn and Hon. Spencer Brand.
