NIA to embark on Massive Cleanup of Derelict and Abandoned Cars on the Island
Premier of Nevis, the Hon. Mark Brantley, on August 28th, announced a large-scale initiative to remove abandoned and derelict vehicles from across the island that have been left on roadsides, in residential yards, and overgrown in bushes. He shared:
Several concerns were cited for the cleanup:
Premier Mark Brantley. He stated that it is one of the ways that they are responding to the influx of vehicles on the island mentioning that in just one day at the Long Point Port, 50 vehicles were brought in.
Residents are being urged to cooperate with the initiative, particularly those stubbornly holding onto inoperable vehicles.
