The National Bank Soca Monarch Semi Finals was held on Saturday, July 19^th at the Cultural Village.

The event, saw several participants compete for a spot in the finals which will be held on Thursday July 31^st. The competition saw performances in two categories namely: the Groovy and Power Segments. The finalists that will compete in the Groovy segment are Ras Kelly, De-Syder, Ras Browne, Blade the Artist, Rocco Dan, Jeezy Sparta, Adowah, alternate Issa Kamal and reigning King, Delly Ranks. 

 In the power segment will be Ras Kelly, Shanna, Luck Boss, Nutsy, Klymate, Big 6, Hollywood, alternate Adowah and reigning kings Ras Browne and Rocco Dan.

Then on Sunday, the Kaiso Semi-Final was held at the David Freeman Centre of Excellence. Finalists are Empress Lyric, King Hollywood, King Dis and Dat, Baker, Kairo, De Syder, De Undertaker, Lady Smooth and the alternate Bad Man Polo. The Kaiso Finals will be held on Friday, August 1^st at the NEDACS Cultural Complex.
