Nine Secondary School Students to Face Off in Nevis Tourism Youth Congress

The 2026 Bank of Nevis Limited Tourism Youth Congress has been officially launched as part of activities for Nevis Tourism Awareness Month which will be celebrated in May, bringing together nine student competitors from the island’s three secondary schools.

Representing Gingerland Secondary School are Ajernee Hodge, Alison Gishard, and Jeremiah Addai. Charlestown Secondary School will be represented by Excellence Nisbett, Fantasia Stoby, and Ron-dre Daniel, while Alexis Peart, Karissa Tyrell, and Kayla Mendonca will compete on behalf of Nevis International Secondary School. With strong representation across these institutions, the competition is expected to mirror last year’s high standard, which saw winner Khayla Claxton emerge after a closely contested event.

This year’s congress will take place on May 12th, 5:00 p.m. at the Nevis Performing Arts Centre (NEPAC), where students will demonstrate their knowledge and vision for the tourism sector.

The eventual winner will be named Junior Youth Tourism Minister and will go on to represent Nevis at the Caribbean Tourism Organization Regional Tourism Youth Congress in Guyana, serving for one year as youth ambassador.

The event remains a key feature of Tourism Awareness Month also known as Exposition Nevis, highlighting youth involvement in shaping the future of Nevis’ tourism industry.
