One individual is still in police custody in connection with Nevis’ first homicides for 2026.

Additionally, a police spokesperson told the VONNEWSLINE that “no charges have been laid as yet”.

The double homicide occurred on Thursday Sep. 3^rd, in Brown Pasture. The victims were: 62-year-old Mario Andrew and his partner 52-year-old Caroline Rodrigues, both of Brown Pasture.

The double homicide came nearly five (5) months after SKN recorded its fourth (4^th) homicide for 2026, back in April. The homicides also took SKN’s murder toll to 6 for 2026.

Nevis last recorded a homicide on July 29^th 2025 (almost 14 months ago).
