The Nevis Reformation Party (NRP) will launch its slate of Candidates for the imminent Federal Elections (today) Friday, June 3rd, 2022 at the Villa Grounds in Charlestown.
The island of Nevis has 3 of 11 seats in the National Assembly, all of which the Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM) won in the 2020 Federal Elections. However, there has been much debate surrounding NRP’s Candidates as the three Candidates are those who will be vying for the next Nevis Island Assembly Elections as well.
Advocates for the party have for a number of years condemned the Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM) for running the same candidates locally and federally.
But is the NRP doing the same?
NRP’s Leader, Dr. Janice Daniel-Hodge explains:
“No person, who is a Member of either the National Assembly or Nevis Island Assembly shall be so recommended to serve in the other Assembly of which he or she is not at the time, a member”, according to the Party’s Constitution:
