Nu Vybes Band Int’l wins 2025 Roadmarch title

Nu Vybes Band Int’l won the 2025 Roadmarch title as part of the J’ouvert Jump (Dec. 26th): the first time in years. SKN’s National Carnival Committee said on social media “the speakers rolled, the riddims shook the streets, and history was made.”

Nu Vybes aka “Sugar Band” won with “Home Coming” amassing a total of 259.5 pts. 1st Runner-Up went to last year’s winner Kollision Band with “TMI”, amassing 259.5 pts and 2nd Runner-Up went to Grand Masters Band with “Rock Steady” scoring 256.85 pts.

A tie-breaker policy was implemented as both Nu Vybes and Kollission amassed the same total of points. The Committee said “in the event of a tie for any position (same number of points), the Aggregate system of judging will be used, whereby all scores will be added to determine the highest scores. After the Aggregate System has been used and a tie remains, the judges will decide who will progress to the higher position based on a majority vote.”

Meantime, for the Small J’Ouvert Troupes segment: Grand Masters GM Addix won and amassed 145 points, 2nd place was Kollision Band 139 points and Xtreme Nation took 3rd place with 120 points. For the Large J’Ouvert Troupes: Excess Jouvert won amassing 150 points, Nu Vybes Band Int’l-2nd place with 130 points and Red Devils took 3rd with 124 points.
