Officials from Ministry of Education on visit to Estonia

A contingent of three representatives from the Ministry of Education, Information Technology et al, left the island on an official visit to the European nation of Estonia.

According to the ministry, the visit is in an effort to make assessments of the country’s digital education. In a previous statement, Premier of Nevis, Hon. Mark Brantley announced the ministry’s interest in implementing Coding into Nevis’ education system through relations with Estonia.

Members of the delegation include Principal Education Officer Ms. Zahnela Claxton, Mr. John Williams and Mr. Jevon Claxton, as well as Minister Counsellor Elsa Wilkin-Armbrister who are currently learning about Estonia’s leading digital education system.

The group will also spend time in Finland before returning to Nevis. Furthermore, the ministry claims the progress is commendable as Estonia and Finland are ranked in the top 3 countries in Europe for digital education and that the insights gained during the tour should position the ministry to continue to build and integrate technology across the system.
