Following an incident on May 31^st, which resulted in the seizure of an AR-15 rifle, at Port Zante, lawmen say investigations are still ongoing into that matter.

Mr. Raziq Persaud of Plum Tree, Phillips Village in St. Kitts was arrested on two (2) warrants in the first instance and formally charged for the offences of Possession of Firearm and Possession of Ammunition at the Basseterre Police Station on Tuesday June 10^th at approximately 3:45 p.m.

According to the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force, a black Toyota motorcar occupying three males was observed at approximately 5:10 a.m. with the occupants acting suspicious. The vehicle was discreetly followed to the rear of Mau Pau Casino in Port Zante. Upon approaching the vehicle, the three occupants exited and fled the scene on foot.

A search was conducted and revealed an AR-15 rifle and a magazine containing twenty (20) rounds of mixed caliber ammunition. They also recovered a back pack containing cash, a black mask, gloves, a pink Samsung cellular phone and other personal items.

Thus far for 2025, 11 firearms and 110 rounds of ammunition have been seized by police.
