Over 5,000 Health Screening conducted by the St. Kitts HPU and partners

The St. Kitts Health Promotion Unit has confirmed that the unit has conducted a total of 5,094 health screenings in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Health, Taiwan ICDF and other partners.

The screenings were executed by the unit’s Health Screening Team between the month of January and June 30th, 2022.

The health screenings that were conducted include: Blood pressure, Blood sugar, BMI Calculation – Height & Weight, Hip-Waist Circumference, Kidney Function test and Breast Examination (BSE).

Under a project dubbed: “Capacity Building Project for the Prevention and Control of Metabolic Chronic Diseases,” held in 2021, 4,064 persons were screened throughout the Federation.

In March 2022, the St. Kitts HPU stated that their target number of screening for the year was “set at a minimum of 4,000 persons” due to the gradual relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions.

In a notice highlighting the milestone, the department stated “We sincerely thank the Taiwan ICDF, various businesses, churches and community groups for partnering with the Ministry of Health toward achieving this momentous goal”.
