That was Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew speaking at the Federal Cabinet’s 1st Press Conference, on October 17th

The Poverty Alleviation Program (PAP) otherwise known as Household Assistance Program was introduced by the Team-Unity Administration in 2018, to assist households whose gross income falls under EC$3,000.00.  Under the program, qualified individuals received aid in the amount of EC$500.00.

Leading up to August 5th General Elections, Dr. Drew debunked rumours that once the St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP) gets into power, that they will put an end to the program.

Additionally, the SKNLP announced its “M.E.N.D” Program, which will provide up to EC$1,500.00 per month per family, each family will be attached to a social worker, free employment training and free business plan development.
