Payments under the Social Security’s (SS) COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund, are scheduled to begin on Friday, 25th September, 2020 in the amount of $1,000.00, a release from the Social Security’s (SS) Board states.

A continued stimulus payment for the unemployed under the Social Security’s (SS) COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund, was announced for the month of September ONLY.

According to the SS release, this payment is to provide relief to those persons who are still laid off/unemployed as a result of COVID-19 in the Tourism and related sectors.

The Social Security’s COVID-19 Emergency Relief Fund was created to assist all working persons, whose income has been directly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and facilitate the payment of up to EC$ 1,000.00.
