Period for duty-free concessions to end on Friday

The period for duty-free concessions in St. Kitts & Nevis will come to an end later this week.

That period began on November 15th, 2024 and will end on January 31st, 2025. These special duty-free concessions are for non-commercial importers and travellers, a release from the Federal Government says.

The announcement was made as it was the anticipation of the government to ease the financial burden on citizens and residents as they prepared for the Christmas and Carnival seasons.

Now, goods that will land in the Federation during the specified period will qualify for the concessions.

The approved duty-free allowances include: Gift packages of foodstuff: The first 400lbs will be free of duties and taxes. Non-commercial imports: A duty-free allowance of EC$675.00 (US$250.00) off the CIF (Cost, Insurance, Freight) value.
