Farmers and members of the general public with an interest in rearing Broiler Birds, have been encouraged to get involved in the Broiler Industry currently being pursued by the Ministry and Department of Agriculture.
The possible initiative is expected to see local farmers rearing chickens and then being able to carry them to a facility for slaughtering. The goal of the project is to reduce the Food Import Bill in relation to poultry and boosting the economic activity on the island. This is according to Minister of Agriculture, Hon. Eric Evelyn.
