Phase 2 on the ban of the single use plastics initiative began on Wednesday, April 30^th, 2025 in St. Kitts and Nevis where the importation of Styrofoam Food Containers and Plastic Straws is now banned.

However, on July 31^st 2025, will be the date when the distribution and sale of these items will be prohibited.

Previously, March 31^st, 2025, marked the ending of phase 1 of the restriction on the distribution and sale of t-shirt shopping bags. Persons have now switched to paper and other reusable options.

The final phase is slated for August 31^st, 2025, where single use plastic utensils, plates and cups will no longer be imported, then no longer sold or distributed on November 30^th, 2025.
