As the federation ramps up with sustainable actions and policies, phase 2 of the national ban on single use plastics will end on Thursday July 31^st, 2025.

The ending of the phase will see the prohibition on the use, sale and distribution of the items of: Styrofoam food containers, plastic straws and plastic egg crates. Previously, the aforementioned items were barred from importation as of April 30^th, 2025.

In addition, the final phase will begin on August 31^st, 2025, where the importation of single use plastic utensils, cups and plates will not be permitted.
