The People’s Labour Party (PLP) has issued a “fake callers alert”, seeking to sensitize the public about scammers.

PLP said on social media “it has come to our attention that individuals are making phone calls from the numbers +1 (869) 766-2053 and +234 814 226 4990, claiming to be affiliated with the People’s Labour Party (PLP) and inviting persons to a so-called “PLP Zoom meeting.”

The Party stated “these individuals are not affiliated with the People’s Labour Party in any way. They are impersonating members of the PLP and are likely scammers.”

As such, PLP urged “all members of the public to ignore these calls and messages, and do not share any personal information. Official PLP announcements and meeting notices are shared through verified channels only.”
