PM Drew and President Tinubu Discuss Future of Africa-Caribbean Cooperation
St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister, the Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew, held a bilateral meeting on Saturday March 29th, with the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, during an audience accommodated by the President on the occasion of his birthday.
The engagement focused on matters of mutual interest and strategic collaboration between St. Kitts and Nevis and Nigeria, particularly in the areas of trade, economic development, health, and education. Both leaders reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and deepening South-South cooperation.
Prime Minister Drew expressed interest in building partnerships that would allow St. Kitts and Nevis to benefit from Nigeria’s expertise, scale, and resources. Areas of potential cooperation include educational exchange programmes, healthcare partnerships, investment in key sectors such as technology and renewable energy, and the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
They affirmed the importance of advancing the CARICOM-AU agenda and further aligning the interests of African and Caribbean nations to pursue common development goals and global advocacy. Following the meeting, PM Drew said on social media: “The future of Caribbean–Africa cooperation is bright!”
