“The federal government cannot tell the Nevis Island Administration what to do with its land”, a comment from St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister, Hon. Dr. Terrence Drew during his Roundtable discussion on July 16^th, 2026.

On the matter of the Destiny Project, Dr. Drew said according to the constitution, the Prime Minister cannot stop any construction on Nevis and he is making it absolutely clear so there’s no misunderstanding:

PM Drew said to some extent, the constitution is unfair and needs some serious consideration on constitutional reform in that sense, because St. Kitts doesn’t have that privilege. He said in the current constitution, Nevis exists, St. Kitts-Nevis exists but St. Kitts doesn’t exist by itself:
