Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Dr. Terrance Drew, elaborated on the lifetime health insurance coverage for civil servants (government workers).
This forms part of his administration’s efforts to bolster social protection. PM Drew elaborated further about the expanded coverage, which took effect on Dec. 1st 2025.
PM Drew continued to explain the health insurance:
The government will introduce a new contribution structure this year. The flat monthly contribution of $75 will be replaced, permitting some pension recipients to contribute the lowest $25 per month, others will pay nothing.
Monthly contributions will be capped at $150, and the Government will continue to subsidize both active employees and retirees to ensure the long-term sustainability of the plan.
