PM Drew makes Official State Visit to the Republic of Cuba
An eight (8) member delegation headed by Prime Minister, the Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew embarked on a two day visit to the Republic of Cuba. The visit began on Thursday May 22nd and will end (today) Friday, May 23rd, 2025.
This visit is to enhance the diplomatic relationship between the two islands which has existed for over 30 years, since May 10th, 1995.
Areas on the discussion table include: healthcare, education, exploration of renewable energy, geopolitical developments and the welfare, triumphs and difficulties of Kittitian and Nevisian students currently embarking on studies in Cuba.
The group arrived in Cuba on Wednesday evening (May 21st) and were welcomed by Senior Cuban officials including Vice Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Josefina Vidal Ferreiro, as well as Ambassador of Cuba to St. Kitts and Nevis, H.E. David Rivero Pérez.
The other members of the delegation are the Prime Minister’s spouse-Mrs. Diani Prince Drew, Cabinet Secretary-Dr. Marcus Natta, Ambassador-His Excellency Kenneth Douglas, Press Secretary-Mr. Javon Liburd, Advisor-Mr. Austin Edinborough, finally, Medical Specialist-Dr. Joylette Woodley.
