PM Drew Reaffirms Ritz-Carlton Development Moving Ahead in St. Kitts
Prime Minister, Dr. Terrance Drew has reaffirmed that the Ritz-Carlton development project in St. Kitts remains fully on track. The Prime Minister described it as a US$250 million private investment expected to create hundreds of jobs during both construction and operation.
Dr. Drew addressed public concern during a recent press conference, noting that the land where the issue arose is privately owned and unrelated to the government. He said that while the developers remain committed, there are ongoing discussions regarding vendors who occupy part of the property.
The Prime Minister explained that back in 2017, the previous administration had promised to relocate those vendors to an alternative site in Frigate Bay-a promise that was never fulfilled.
Dr. Drew assured that his administration is now working toward a win-win solution, offering relocation support to affected vendors while pushing forward with a transformative project that will diversify the economy and position St. Kitts as a premier Caribbean destination.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed that his government remains committed to driving investments that build confidence, strengthen tourism and create sustainable opportunities for citizens and residents across the federation.
