SKN’s Prime Minister has renewed his call for greater transparency in the legal proceedings involving the Development Bank of St. Kitts and Nevis former General Manager, Lenworth Harris.
The Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew said earlier in January, “transparency and accountability are pillars of this administration, and I have asked the Attorney General to apply for cameras in the courtroom so that the public can see and hear the facts directly.”
The Prime Minister, who is also the Minister of Finance, explained that the case stems from a lawsuit filed by Mr. Harris against the Development Bank, prompting a response from the institution. He dismissed accusations of a government-led initiative or witch hunt, underscoring the importance of allowing the legal process to take its course.
The court case will address claims of wrongful dismissal filed by Lenworth Harris, as well as a counterclaim by the Development Bank seeking accountability for financial losses suffered under his management. The case is slated for January 29th 2025.
