PM Drew to hold Chairmanship post this Sunday at the OECS 73rd Meeting

As part of its activities to celebrate its 42nd anniversary, the Organisation of the Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) will see a new Chairman at its helm during its next meeting which is scheduled to be held in St. Kitts and Nevis.

 

 

 

The upcoming meeting will be held on Sunday, June 18th, 2023 at the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank’s Auditorium at 5:00 p.m. and will be its 73rd edition.

 

 

 

St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister – Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew is expected to assume the Chairmanship position.

 

 

 

Hon. Drew will make a presentation among other speakers at Sunday’s opening ceremony. Several topics that will be discussed includes renewable energy, health, security and regional integration.

 

 

 

Activities in St. Kitts and Nevis will run until Monday, June 19th, 2023 and is been celebrated under the theme: “Vision, Integration, Sustainability.

As the Organization of the Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) continues in its anniversary celebrations, the entity utilized the opportunity to visit a number of schools from across the federation.

 

 

 

On Tuesday, June 13th, representatives from the organization visited a number of primary schools in St. Kitts namely: the Bronte Welsh Primary, Sandy Point Primary and the St. Paul’s Primary Schools. The delegation included Director-General of the OECS, Dr. Didacus Jules; St. Kitts and Nevis Commissioner to the OECS, Ambassador Larry Vaughan and Head of Communications for the OECS, Ms. Loverly Anthony. During the visits, the groups shared information on the OECS and the importance it continues to play in the Eastern Caribbean.

 

 

 

The organization then visited various schools on Nevis on June 14th, where they engaged with students of the St. Thomas Primary, Violet O. Jeffers-Nicholls Primary School, and the Elizabeth Pemberton Primary School.
