A Sitting of the National Assembly will be held on Tuesday Dec. 16^th and this will feature the presentation of the national budget for 2026 (or federal budget).

The Sitting of will be held at the National Assembly Chambers, at 10:00 am. At the Sitting, Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, the Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew will seek leave to introduce and have read a first time The Appropriation (2026) Bill, 2025.

The Appropriation (2026) Bill, 2025, is a Bill to provide for the services of Saint Christopher and Nevis for the financial year commencing January 01, 2026, and ending on December 31, 2026.

PM Drew will then move the second reading of the Bill, or present the 2026 Budget Address. The Annual Financial Statement and Budgetary Proposals for 2026 will be presented during the Sitting.

The Appropriation (2025) Bill, 2024 or the 2025 Budget which was passed in December 2024, was to the tune of EC$ 1.1 Billion for recurrent expenditure, capital expenditure and net lending.
