The weekend unfolded with several vehicular accidents in St. Kitts.

According to a press release, between 7:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. on Friday March 22nd, an accident occurred on the F.T. Williams Highway in the vicinity of the tunnel, involving Motor Car R 1470 owned by Guy Zinser of Island Paradise and Motor Pick-up PB 328 owned and driven by Maxine Isaac of Buckley’s Housing Project.

Investigations indicate that Ms. Isaac was travelling on the seaside and Mr. Zinser was travelling in the opposite direction. Mr. Zinser stated that when he exited the tunnel, his visibility was impaired as the area was poorly lighted and the road was not marked.

He stated that as a result, he ended up straying into the other lane and collided with Ms. Isaac’s vehicle.

Mr. Zinser, Ms. Isaac, and four (4) others were transported to the Joseph N. France General Hospital for treatment of injuries sustained during the incident.

Meanwhile, on Saturday March 23rd, two (2) more accidents occurred in the vicinity of the Windsor University and in the region of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in St. Kitts around the same time.

Police say that both accidents took place between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Investigations revealed that the accident in the area of Winsor University, saw Motor Car owned by Kerone Roache of Lodge Project and Motor Cyclist Da Vinci Carty of Conaree were both traveling towards Basseterre, Mr. Roache reported that he veered off the road because he looked away when an item fell off a seat inside his vehicle. Upon maneuvering back onto the road, he skidded and collided with the rear tire of the motorbike, which was ahead, causing Mr. Carty to lose control and tumble to the ground.

He was transported to the Joseph N. France General Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Then, a Motor Pick up owned and driven by Horatio Thomas of Lodge Project and Motor Car Owned and Driven by Nicola Burroughs of Cayon collided on the Island’s Main Road just before the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Investigations indicate that Mrs. Burroughs was parking while Mr. Thomas was travelling from the Basseterre direction. When in the vicinity of the Church, Mr. Thomas collided with the rear of Mrs. Burroughs’ vehicle.

She was issued with a medical form and taken to the hospital.
