Police investigating attempted homicide in Cayon

Still in police news, Lawmen are investigating a shooting incident at Wade Street, in Cayon, St. Kitts, which occurred on Wednesday April 17th, between 11:30PM and 12AM. The incident left Devon Norford of Lover’s Lane, Cayon, 34, with multiple gunshot wounds about the body.

 

 

 

Police officers responded to the scene, observed and spoke with Mr. Norford who reported that he had been approached and fired at by an armed assailant.

 

 

 

Mr. Norford stated that he fled in the direction of the Cayon Police Station to seek assistance. He was soon thereafter transported by the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) first to the Mary Charles Hospital in Molineaux, then to the Joseph N. France General Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

 

 

 

He has since been warded in stable condition. The Crime Scene Unit of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) processed the scene and collected some items of evidential value. Investigations are ongoing.

 

 

Meanwhile,

 

 

 

On Wednesday evening (Apr. 17th), SKN was rocked by a shooting incident which took the murder toll to 10 for 2024. Currently, the homicide toll for this year is 11.

 

 

 

Police are investigating the shooting homicide that occurred between 8:30PM and 9PM at John Street, Newtown, St. Kitts. Following reports of the shooting, Police and other law enforcement officers responded to the scene and observed eighteen (18)-year-old Crisbel Rivera, a male national of the Dominican Republic who resided at Carty Alley, Newtown, lying motionless on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds about the body.

 

 

 

A police communique says “initial inquiries indicated that Mr. Rivera was approached by an armed assailant who fired several shots in his direction. Mr. Rivera was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.” It occurred just two days after SKN recorded its 9th murder for the year.
