Police issues release on things to be aware of when renewing Driver’s Licenses

The police has issued a Press Release in reminding all motorists in the federation of the importance of the renewal of a Driver’s Licence.

 

According to the release, drivers’ licenses shall be valid for three (3) years from the date of issue, licenses shall expire on the holder’s birth date in the third year of validity.

 

If a driver’s license is renewed after its expiration date, the validity period of the new license shall commence from the expiration date of the previous license, regardless of the actual date of renewal. Exceptions shall be granted only to individuals who provide satisfactory evidence that they were unable to renew the license due to: incapacitation due to medical or other personal circumstances, being out of the Federation for the period during which the license expired. Evidence will be required for the approval of these exceptions, such as: A medical certificate or other relevant documents for incapacitation and Proof of Travel.
