Police urges the public not to submit False Reports and Mislead the Police

On Wednesday, May 21st, 2025, the Royal Saint Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) released a Missing Person’s Bulletin for a Haitian national named Ivel Junior Saint Val who was said to be last seen on Sunday, May 18th.

According to a release, the police is informing the general public that the missing person report “has been confirmed to be false”.

The release states that investigations carried out by officers of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and Immigration Department “revealed that Mr. Saint Val was never missing and had voluntarily departed the Federation by boat.”

The police reminds the public “that filing false reports is a serious offence that diverts critical resources away from genuine emergencies and criminal investigations. Such actions undermine public trust and unnecessarily strain the capacity of law enforcement agencies.”

Individuals are encouraged “to act responsibly and truthfully when engaging with law enforcement authorities” as “persons found making malicious or false reports will be held accountable in accordance with the law.”
