Leaders of political parties in St. Kitts & Nevis have expressed their perspective following the announcement of the 2022 General Elections, scheduled for Aug. 5th.
Nomination day is Tuesday July 26th. Parties vying for the 11 seats in the Elections, are: People’s Labour Party (PLP) led by Prime Minister Dr. Timothy Harris, the People’s Action Movement (PAM) led by the Hon. Shawn Richards, the St. Kitts and Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP) led by Dr. Terrance Drew, the Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM) led by the Hon. Mark Brantley, the Nevis Reformation Party (NRP) led by Dr. Janice Daniel-Hodge and the Moral Restoration Movement (MRM) led by Mr. Samuel Caines.
PAM’s Mr. Richards had this to say:
Dr. Harris dissolved Parliament on May 10th paving the way for the general election. In St. Kitts & Nevis, once the parliament dissolves, the Prime Minister has a 90 day period to call elections. Meanwhile, SKNLP’s Dr. Drew said:
MRM’s Mr. Caines is hoping for the General elections results to a particular way.
