As citizens and residents of the Federation experienced downpours from a tropical depression in the Atlantic, here on Nevis, power wires were damaged and dangerous electrical sparks ensued, in Charlestown, on Saturday night.

Video footage on social media shows a lamppost on Chapel Street, sparking while one driver in a vehicle is reversing to avoid harm.

According to Nevlec, customers experienced an “unexpected outage” as a consequence.

Power was eventually restored. No casualties were recorded in this incident.
