Premier Brantley Announces Renovation of NTA Offices and Boost in Tourism Levy Revenue
Premier of Nevis, the Hon. Mark Brantley, has announced that a renovation of the Nevis Tourism Authority (NTA) offices in Charlestown will be done citing the need for a more professional and conducive workspace.
During his monthly conference he asserted “This government is investing in a more significant way in the NTA because we think if the NTA does its job right, Nevis will prosper.”
In addition to infrastructure improvements, the Premier highlighted a notable increase in revenue from the Tourism Development Levy (TDL).
Hon. Mark Brantley. This follows the government’s decision to raise the levy from 2% to 3% effective June 1st 2025.
The Tourism Development Levy is collected by registered businesses in the tourism sector, including hotels, restaurants, guesthouses, and Airbnbs.
These businesses remit the tax to the Inland Revenue Department, which then transfers the funds to the NTA. The authority uses the revenue to support marketing and advertising efforts for Nevis’ tourism industry.
