The 2025 Atlantic Hurricane Season officially began on Sunday, June 1^st, 2025.

With the commencement, citizens and residents are being encouraged to prepare themselves and their properties for the unknown that the season may bring. During his monthly press conference, Premier of Nevis Hon. Mark Brantley asked the nation to pray for safety of the country:

Additionally, Minister of Communication, Disaster et.al, Hon. Spencer Brand will host the Nevis Disaster Management Committee meeting (today) Monday, June 2^nd at the Disaster Management EOC Building. Subcommittee chairs, emergency response agencies, permanent secretaries, heads of government departments and other stakeholders are expected to attend and discuss the readiness of each sector and agency for the upcoming hurricane season.

A meeting will also be held with all current and prospective managers of emergency shelters across the island on Tuesday, June 3^rd at the EOC Building.
