With the pedestrians and vehicles on the roads of Nevis expected to increase over the coming days due to the Culturama Festival, a call has been made to drivers on the island to demonstrate diligence and safety when driving.
With the 50th homecoming celebration, hundreds of persons from abroad and in the diaspora are expected to arrive on the island for the festival according to statements by the Nevis Island Administration.
With the anticipated escalation in traffic activity, Premier of Nevis, Hon Mark Brantley, implored the public to drive with caution as rental drivers which may not be familiar with the island will be on the road.
He also asked persons to be responsible amidst the festivities and put the relevant measures in place to ensure the safety of themselves and others:
