On January 20th, 2026, Prime Minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis, the Hon. Dr. Terrance Drew, in his role as Chairman of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), arrived in St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) leading a delegation for high-level discussions with SVG Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Godwin Friday.
The visit is part of a series of preparatory engagements ahead of the CARICOM Heads of Government Meeting scheduled for February 24th to 27th in St. Kitts and Nevis.
Commenting on his role as chair Prime Minister Drew emphasized that his six-month chairmanship will prioritize meaningful regional integration, practical trade initiatives, and sustainable development. He acknowledged potential challenges but underscored that they should not diminish the purpose or impact of CARICOM.
The discussions in St. Vincent aims to align regional priorities, strengthen cooperation, and ensure tangible benefits for citizens across member states according to a release by the St. Kitts and Nevis Information Service (SKNIS). Senior government officials and CARICOM Secretariat representatives are participating in the consultations, reflecting the collaborative approach Dr. Drew is fostering across the region.
