The Fiftieth Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) will officially open on Tuesday February 24th, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at the Marriott Dome in Frigate Bay, Saint Kitts, marking a historic golden jubilee for the regional bloc.
Held under the theme “Beyond Words: Action Today for a Thriving, Sustainable CARICOM,” the three-day summit will bring together Heads of Government, Associate Members, international dignitaries and regional institutions to chart the Community’s path forward after more than five decades of integration.
Addressing the Opening Ceremony will be CARICOM Secretary-General Carla Barnett, CARICOM Chair and Prime Minister of Saint Kitts and Nevis, Terrance M. Drew, outgoing Chair and Prime Minister of Jamaica, Andrew Holness, Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Kamla Persad-Bissessar, President of Suriname, Her Excellency Dr. Jennifer Geerlings-Simons, and Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Godwin Friday.
Also, the St. Kitts and Nevis Information Service (SKNIS) has announced that The United States (US) Secretary of State, His Excellency Marco Rubio, is one of specially invited guest at the meeting. Secretary Rubio is scheduled to address the Opening Plenary Session on Wednesday, February 25th, 2026.
