In the midst of social media reports concerning a private jet “crash landing” or “running off” the runway at Nevis’ Vance W. Amory International Airport, fire officials have told the VONNEWSLINE otherwise.

The VONNEWSLINE received reports on Monday indicating that a private jet, while attempting to land, ran off the runway after a tire blew out.

However, a spokesperson for the Fire & Rescue Services-Nevis Division said that the jet “attempted to take off and veered off the runway.”

There were no casualties.
