Promoting Sustainability – A Reusable Period Pads Workshop

The Department of Gender Affairs’ on Nevis is holding its Menstrual Health Management Project, which aims to educate and empower girls about menstrual cycles, break harmful stigmas and taboo, as well as encourage compassion and understanding in boys when it comes to the menstrual cycles of the females they interact with.

 

Saturday, June 14th and 21st, from 2:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. at the Charlestown Secondary School, girls and their guardians would have the opportunity to learn to make reusable period pads in a sustainable workshop.

Other benefits include their cost effectiveness, they are free of the harmful chemicals found in disposable pads or it can be an enterprise:
