That was Principal Education Officer (PEO), Ms. Zahnela Claxton.
Over the last two weeks, students of public schools were on an alternate day schedule, which meant that for example, during the week, a student was to report to school for in person learning for a number of days and the remainder would be virtual learning.
According to Ms. Claxton, recently “a phased integration” allowed all pre-schoolers and students from Kindgarten to Grade 2, to be present at schools across the island for in-person learning.
The alternate day schedule was implemented to help curb the spread of the Covid-19, within the learning institutions.
However, a notice from the Department of Education states “primary school children will attend school in person, unless otherwise directed.”
