Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations commence Thursday 

On Thursday, June 2nd 2022, St. Kitts and Nevis along with fellow Members of the Commonwealth will be celebrating Queen’s Platinum Jubilee marking 70 years of Service to the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and the Commonwealth. 

 

To celebrate this anniversary, events and initiatives will continue to take place throughout the year in the UK, culminating in a four day UK bank holiday weekend from Thursday, June 2nd to Sunday, June 5th, 2022.

 

On Thursday, the Federation and all nations of the Commonwealth around the world will be partaking in the lighting of a Beacon in celebration of the seventieth (70th) year since the accession to the throne of, Her Majesty the Queen, Head of the Commonwealth of Nations. 

 

The ceremonial lighting will take place at the Nevis Athletic Stadium beginning at 9:00 p.m.

Her Majesty is the first British Monarch to arrive at a Platinum Jubilee and is the longest reigning British Monarch in history.
