A police spokesperson told the VON NEWSLINE, that once a missing juvenile has been located by police and the investigation does not unearth any criminal activity, the matter is turned over to the Social Services and/ or Child Probation Unit.
As it relates to the general procedure for cases When the Child Probation Unit takes over, the individual is given a full medical assessment and also interviewed to gain full information as to the premise and background of the incident.
After these measures are taken and the Services complete their investigation, a decision is taken as to whether the juvenile is released into the custody of the parent or guardian or if a problem is detected in the living situation or other aspects of the child, then further action would be taken by the unit.
