Lawmen told the VONNEWSLINE over the weekend that four (4) of the five (5) suspects held in custody, in connection with the Rams’ Supermarket robberies, were released. At approximately 6:30 pm on August 12th, four (4) armed and masked assailants wearing ‘hoodies’ rushed into the Ram’s Supermarket at Camps.
The assailants robbed four (4) of the cashier’s stations and the vault of a large sum of money before fleeing the scene in a waiting car. Then at approximately 7:55PM, four (4) armed and masked assailants dressed in all black entered the Ram’s Supermarket at Bird Rock. The assailants also stole a large sum of cash from the cashiers and the vault before making their getaway in a waiting car.
Police had taken five persons into custody for questioning, following a raid at the Timothy Beach Hotel in Frigate Bay on Thursday August 17th, including one woman. However, on Saturday August 26th, a police spokesperson told VONNEWSLINE that four persons were discharged pend further enquiries. One person was charged.
