The Government of Saint Kitts and Nevis has approved a significant reduction in import duty on fully electric vehicles:

Hon. Konris Maynard.

The initiative forms part of the government’s push to promote cleaner energy, reduce fuel dependence, and support environmental sustainability across the Federation.

According to the Energy Unit, the move is expected to make electric vehicles more affordable for consumers, while contributing to cleaner air and a reduction in carbon emissions.

Officials say the policy also supports long-term goals of energy independence and a more sustainable transport sector.

The reduced duty applies specifically to fully electric vehicles within the specified age range.
