Residents urged to refrain from tampering with utility water supply
Residents urged to refrain from tampering with utility water supply
Residents on the island of Nevis are being encouraged to desist from interfering with the Water Department’s water system throughout the island.
Making the appeal was Minister of Water Services, Hon. Spencer Brand following a number of reports where persons who were previously disconnected made an illegal connection to the water supply or tampered with the lock placed on the water meter.
Following a plea for persons to pay their water utility bill, Minister Brand said that for the preservation of the water supply and thereby the safety of customers, no attempt should be made in manipulating the system.
He intimated that new fines have been put in place for persons who insist on breaking regulations implemented by the department.
