Road Fatality #6 recorded in SKN, police continue investigations
For the first time in five (5) months, St. Kitts & Nevis recorded a road fatality.
According to a press release from the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF), investigations are underway into “a fatal traffic accident that occurred at Manor by the Sea in Frigate Bay, St. Kitts, on Thursday Sep. 25th, between 5:30 PM and 6 PM.”
Preliminary investigations indicate that a motor car driven by Mr. Michael Prendergast, aged fifty (50), of Cedar Grove, St. Peter’s, entered the Manor by the Sea Villas compound, accelerated down a slope in a southeast direction, and collided with a retaining wall. Mr. Prendergast sustained severe injuries as a result of the collision and was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene by the District Medical Officer.
An autopsy will be conducted to determine the precise cause of death. The Crime Scene Unit processed the location, and some items of evidential value were taken into police custody. Investigations into the circumstances of this tragic incident are ongoing.
This was the Federation’s 6th road fatality for 2025 and comes exactly five months after SKN recorded its 5th on April 25th.
