The 2026 Bank of Nevis Limited Youth Tourism Congress was held the evening of May 12th, at the Nevis Performing Arts Centre, where Mr. Rondre Daniel of the Charlestown Secondary School, emerged as Nevis’ new Junior Youth Tourism Minister.

Daniel will represent the island at the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) Regional Tourism Youth Congress in Guyana later this year.

Runners-up included Alison Gishard and Ajernee Hodge of the Gingerland Secondary School. The Congress brought together nine students from Nevis’ three secondary schools to showcase their vision for the island’s tourism sector, part of activities marking Nevis Tourism Awareness Month.

In his winning presentation, Daniel outlined a three-pronged strategy emphasizing cultural immersion, creative empowerment, and historical storytelling. He proposed immersive experiences at the historic Bath Hotel, the launch of the Nevis Creatives Academy with grants and apprenticeships, and virtual and live reenactments of Nevisian history. Daniel will join other regional youth ambassadors at the CTO’s State of the Tourism Industry Conference in Georgetown, Guyana, October 5th to 9th, under the theme “One Caribbean: Infinite Experiences,” engaging Caribbean tourism leaders in shaping the region’s future.
