The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force has made a plea to the public to refrain from transporting heavy items in an unsafe fashion.
Members of the police force were made aware of an ongoing issue where a number of drivers are carrying loads that are longer that the back of their vehicles, resulting in the load hanging out in the road.
According to Sergeant Sophie Henry, regulations of the traffic department states that in such circumstances, a red flag should be placed on the vehicle to warn drivers in the vicinity of the load being carried.
