RSCNPF Officers Certified in Breathalyzer Training to Enhance Road Safety

The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) has successfully completed a specialized three-day breathalyzer training program held from July 22nd to July 24th at the Police Training Complex in Basseterre.

The course, led by Sergeant William Coleman from Florida’s Manatee Country Sheriff’s Office, an expert with over 20 years’ experience and certified Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) instructor, equipped officers with the skills needed to administer breath tests accurately and legally. The training included proper device handling, legal protocols, forensic documentation and real-life role play scenarios to prepare officers for on the ground enforcement.

Officers who passed the training are now certified to conduct breathalyzer tests during patrols, a key step in strengthening efforts to combat impaired driving and reduce road accidents in the Federation.

The Police Force thanked several partners including National Caribbean Insurance, NAGICO, TDC Insurance, Caribbean Alliance, Guardian Insurance and Royal St. Kitts Hotel, for sponsoring the program, highlighting the collaborative effort to promote road safety.

The initiative reflects the Government’s ongoing commitment to improving public safety by equipping law enforcement with effective tools to address alcohol related driving offenses and protect the community.
